What can I expect from a race school?
The Race License School consists of time in the classroom and time on racetrack. Riders are given instruction on how to how to be a safe during a race event, including:
-Understanding the race line
-How to be consistent and predictable on track
-How to manage an unexpected situations like a mechanical issue
-Racing protocols used by sanctioning bodies like WERA, ASRA, etc.
Riders are also evaluated on track and expected to demonstrate the techniques needed for a safe event.
We are often asked “how fast do I need to be to ready for a race school?”
While it is important that you can demonstrate a pace that is reasonably close to your fellow riders, the ability to demonstrate good judgement and ride predictably is more important than a lap time.
